CAS has lawyers who can be pupil masters. They are Ms Christina Lim Li Hui and Mr Robin Cheok. Whether the potential masters are willing to take on pupils is always enitrely at each individual lawyers’ personal discretion. But if our lawyers were to take on a pupil, they must satisfy the Brunei Law Society’s guideline on the experience and exposure a pupil must have before a petiton is filed for their called to the bar.

From 2026 onwards, because of his work load, Robin Cheok will generally not be taking on pupils except for individuals, perhaps after a period of working experience with his office, he is of the opinion that one will be a potential prospect to be a person suitable to be called to the bar. For him, such person must be prepared to be trained for more than the minimum 9 months requirement until the required character of a lawyer is appreciated before he is prepared to invite the pupil to petition to be called to the Brunei bar.
